How to buy a 350 horsepower【261 kW】 Ford Ranger Raptor

The correct answer is no way. Only if you don’t have a business card from Hennessey tuning studio. Ford will never sell a crazy 350-horsepower Ford Ranger Raptor. But nothing is impossible for Hennessey Performance.

America, of course, is a free country, but not everything is possible there either. For example, official Ford dealers will not be able to help if someone has an idea to buy an extreme new 2019 Ford Ranger Raptor with a full off-road package and a very powerful engine. Fortunately, Hennessey Performance (HPE) went out of their way to help fans of powerful, lightweight pickups and built this.

As you’d expect, there’s some increase in power, but we’ll get to the motor in a minute. First: the tasty off-road enhancements added to the 2019 Ford Ranger Raptor.

HPE upgraded the Ranger with a Stage 1 off-road suspension setup, raising the truck by 100 mm. Combined with 17-inch Hennessey alloy wheels and upgraded BFG 285/70 / R17 off-road tires, the Hennessey VelociRaptor Ranger is nearly 120 mm higher than the official dealers. A number of meaty fender pads also appear and an adorable grille is installed. It all looks fantastic.

Completing the optional off-road kit is an upgraded front bumper with LED lights and an additionally upgraded winch. An LED roof panel is also available as an option for those who want to illuminate the dark side of the moon.

«We are very excited to introduce our Hennessey VelociRaptor upgrades for the 2019 Ford Ranger truck,” said founder and CEO John Hennessey. “Demand for our VelociRaptor upgrades for the Ford Raptor truck has been incredible over the past 10 years. We’re thrilled to be able to offer increased power, and performance – both on and off-road – all in our signature VelociRaptor package».

Power? There’s plenty of that here. HPE favors Ford’s 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbo engine, but increases power to 350 hp at 6,000 RPM over the standard 270. Torque is also increased by 75 Nm to 385 Nm of torque. The VelociRaptor Ranger hones its claws by boosting airflow through a new high-pressure air intake system combined with a less restraining and presumably better-sounding stainless-steel exhaust system.

Acceleration time to 60 miles (97 km/h) is also different from the standard. Engineers were able to achieve 6.1 seconds, which is 1.3 seconds less than the stock Ford Ranger Raptor.

The 2019 Hennessey VelociRaptor Ranger tuned is priced at $64,950, which includes a new 2019 Ford Ranger truck with an undetermined package. We’re guessing it’s at least the XLT and possibly the Lariat. The company says they’re limiting production to 500 units, but there’s actually an excellent chance they’ll continue to increase the series if demand is high, which goes without saying.

For those who have already bought a new Ranger, the VelociRaptor upgrade costs $19,950, further proving that Ford is losing significant money on the side by not offering a factory Ranger Raptor in a similar design.
